Technology in Math

4-4 Transforming Formulas
*Students took notes from the Promethean Board outlined by me. I introduced the notes and discussed the vocabulary. Then, I gave them examples from the book. Next, I used the Transforming Formulas lesson from Promethean Planet for extra practice. Next, students used the Activotes for a lesson that I created to rate their knowledge of Transforming Formulas. Last, students began P. 25 from the workbook in class.
*The following day, we went over the homework together. Students were able to ask any questions they had regarding the homework. The slate was passed around the room, allowing students with specific questions to work out their problems on the Promethean Board. Then, the students viewed 4 segments from a United Streaming video titled “Transforming Formulas”. There were real-life examples displayed as to how the students should transform formulas to fit specific situations. Then, students began the rest of P. 25 for homework.
*The next day, students did a Compass Learning Lesson on Transforming Formulas. This lesson is titled “Solving Distance, Rate, and Time Problems”. This can be found in the Algebra folder under Applications of Algebra.
*The technology that was used during this lesson seemed to help the students relate this skill to everyday situations in their own lives. If you have any questions, feel free to email or drop byJ
